WORKERS' RIGHTS

Wolt was accused of wage theft, tax evasion, hidden employment, and minimum wage violations, and was taken to the Berlin Labour Court, where it has so far been forced to pay wages to underpaid workers.

Workers protested against platforms that misclassified them as independent workers. They cycled for 4 days and arrived in Brussels to deliver their demands to EU politicians.

FACTS

12 percent / 2.8 million people in employment currently do or have done some sort of platform work.

Riders protested at Lieferando headquarters in Berlin against the company’s refusal to negotiate a collective agreement. Key demands include an hourly wage of at least €15, a 13th month's pay, and reasonable bonuses for evening, Sunday, and public holiday shifts.
