Uber Eats expands to 50 small cities and towns across the country, including 10 in Ontario.

Since January 2023, Ontarians have been able to order hundreds of brands of alcohol using Uber Eats since Jan 2023.

Uber Eats is the largest food delivery platform in Canada.

Uber opposed a freeze on the number of licenses in Toronto.

  • Toronto City Council has lifted its temporary cap on the number of licences for ride-hailing drivers.
  • The issue will be revisited in March, 2024.
  • While reducing competition, it could have boosted the incomes of app workers and reduced vehicle pollution.

Canadian organisations plan to increase hiring and rely on freelancers in the first half of 2024.
