From June, the iFood platform will adjust the minimum prices per delivery as follows R$ 7.00 for workers who use a bicycle and R$ 7.50 for workers who use a motorbike.
The announcement follows strikes organised by couriers in different regions of the country, but doesn't really bring anything new.
Despite the new minimum rate, in fact, the value per kilometre driven will remain at R$ 1.50, according to couriers. This means that the overall payment structure has not changed in terms of the way the additional distance is calculated.
With the new model, it is estimated that the minimum rate of R$ 7.00 covers deliveries up to 3.5 km for bicycle couriers. For motorcyclists, the minimum charge of R$ 7.50 must apply to distances of up to 5 km.
