UK's Gig Workers Experience Financial Anxiety and Health Risks, Cambridge Study Reveals

Three-quarters of the riders and drivers involved in the University of Cambridge study reported anxiety over the potential drop in income, with over half (51%) saying they risk their health and safety while working. Furthermore, 42% of delivery and driver gig workers reported experiencing physical pain as a result of their work.

Riders and drivers also reported spending an average of ten hours a week waiting for jobs to come through on the app, which meant they were logged on and working but not making any money.
