As a result of recent meetings with Italian trade unions, Uber Eats will have to pay a high price to leave the country. All in all, around 7 million euros, according to estimates.
This sum will be used to settle dozens of individual agreements with its former drivers, as well as the agreement reached last October before the Ministry of Labour to end the collective dismissal procedure for 1,391 bicycle drivers who were responsible for home deliveries on behalf of the US platform.
The incentives range from €1,000 to €11,500 each, to be determined "based on the average number of deliveries made" with the average amount being around €5-6,000. Drivers bound by the October agreement should receive their subsidies by July.
