On September 9, Yemeksepeti couriers in Istanbul began a sit-in protest against new "compliance rules" which include severe penalties for contacting support about accidents and suspensions from receiving orders.
The couriers claim these rules worsen their working conditions and have criticized the company's lack of response to their concerns.
This protest is part of a larger movement for better wages and safety amid a rise in courier fatalities in 2024
