October 2024 - Italy - Padua Delivery Riders Protest for Better Conditions: Union Pushes for Negotiations with Glovo After Tragic Death of Worker

Delivery riders have been mobilising in Padua for three days, supported by the trade union Cgil Nidil.

The union is trying to open negotiations with Glovo, one of the main companies in the sector. The protest was triggered by the death of Alì Jamat, a Pakistani driver, who was hit by a car on his way back from his last delivery.

The demands of the workers represented by the union include an increase in the basic wage per order, reimbursement of mileage, payment for waiting time and a rain allowance. However, no agreement has been reached with Glovo, which is facing operational problems in the city.
