The Data Protection Agency has ordered Foodinho, a company in the group, to pay a fine of 5 million euros for illegally processing the personal data of more than 35 thousand drivers through its digital platform.
The authority also issued specific instructions and prohibited the further processing of the biometric data (facial recognition) of the drivers used to verify their identity. The company had already been fined EUR 2.6 million in 2021. In this case, too, the Garante had found a number of serious violations in the algorithms used to manage workers and shifts.
