The Barcelona Public Prosecutor's Office has filed a complaint against Glovo's managers accusing them of breaching labor rights through their freelance hiring model, which has been the subject of legal controversy for years.
Glovo could be fined between 260 million and 430 million euros, according to Delivery Hero's 2023 annual report. Since the 2022 reform, the Penal Code punishes these crimes with prison terms, and the company has already received previous sanctions for similar practices.
