After more than two years of negotiations, the EU Parliament has ratified the Platform Work Directive. The agreed text will now have to be formally adopted by the Council, too.
The Platform Work Directive in short
1.The presumption of an employment relationship is triggered when facts indicating control and direction are present.
2.It is up to the platform to prove that there is no employment relationship.
3.A person performing platform work cannot be fired or dismissed based on a decision taken by an algorithm. Human supervision is required.
4.Platforms will be prohibited from processing certain types of sensitive personal data.
