Uber has invited the Amsterdam city council for a clarification meeting on some 'inaccuracies' spread by councilors.
In an opinion piece on Het Parool, the relevant council members state that drivers who drive for Uber can be deprived of their income without any form of protection.
Uber said this was incorrect: complaints and reports are always registered and treated seriously. This applies to both drivers and passengers. “Uber is indeed accessible.”
The opinion piece also stated that Uber promises young people can earn thousands of euros monthly. The platform also uses influencers to 'seduce' them.
Uber stated that it had not hired any influencers or made promises on income.
