The Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), a platform created by the Indian government, is gaining popularity as users find it a more affordable alternative to food delivery giants.
Launched in September last year, ONDC aims to transform India's e-commerce landscape using open protocols and open-source specifications. ONDC enables users to order goods online from a variety of sellers across different apps. There is no single app for ONDC, and the platform has partnered with multiple apps for users to choose from.
ONDC's food ordering service is currently live in several cities, including Bangalore and Delhi, which have the most options. More cities will be added soon.
