A hearing was held at the Berlin Labor Court on July 28 after Wolt riders complained of non-payment of wages since December.
Wolt workers, many with a migrant background, accused the company of withholding wages, occupational health and safety, and sick pay.
The legal dispute is being fought.
Of the 120 potentially injured parties, only three dared to step to the Berlin labor court. They would all have carried out Wolt orders for a subcontractor. Nonetheless, at the hearing, Wolt has denied that it has subcontractors in Berlin, despite evidence workers presented with details of deliveries and conversations via the application.
Most of them don't even know that they don't actually work for Wolt.
The riders' lawyer explained the company had tried everything to delay the court dates - time the plaintiffs don't have. “Until the trial is decided, they live on their savings,” he said
