With the first official strike at an online delivery service in Germany, Lieferando riders want to push through a collective agreement and a guaranteed hourly wage of 15 euros.
The first of several strikes took place in Frankfurt.
In February 2023, the NGG union called on the company, which has around 6,500 employees in Germany, to engage in collective bargaining.
These are the conditions the NGG union and Lieferando riders are calling for: 15 euros per hour, payment of a 13th-month salary, pay raises for the evening, Sunday, and public holiday shifts, 0.50 euro kilometer net flat rate for workers who drive by car, and fair billing for the distance driven.
