The Government of Mexico City signed a collaboration agreement with the Association of Real Estate Developers so that delivery workers can have spaces to park their bikes or motorcycles, and have free access to wifi.
This agreement enables spaces for the safe storage of helmets and/or delivery backpacks; guarantees free access and use of restrooms; assigns security personnel to provide support to these workers and organize them during their stay in the delivery areas; extends the commitments to all members of the sector to join this effort; as well as maintains dialogue as a means of understanding to solve any other problem that may arise.
At the beginning of 2020, Rappi had about 30,000 riders, but with the pandemic these increased to more than 50,000. For its part, the Didi Food company reported that it also has 50,000 workers who deliver food.
