Gorillas withdrew from six Dutch cities: Alkmaar, Almere, Apeldoorn, Breda, Enschede and Hilversum. Business was not profitable anymore.
The company has not disclosed how many employees will lose their job.
At the end of May, Gorillas announced that it would now focus on its core markets: the Netherlands, Germany, France, the United Kingdom and the US (New York City).
Gorillas is still active in eleven cities in the Netherlands. In Amsterdam, it took In Amsterdam, it took over three dark stores from the competitor Zapp.
